S2Ep23|| simply better sober

Cait and writer Michelle Yang talk mental health, stigmas and privilege in this week’s incredible conversation.

For some people choosing to be a non-drinker or to become sober isn’t that far off from the reality they’ve been living in. For guest Michelle Yang, that was the case. She used alcohol more like a prop… a prop to get through social events, to feel like she could fit in, and even to fit into a culture that she wasn’t originally born into. This conversation with Michelle is incredibly enlightening as she talks about her choice to become a mental health advocate after being diagnosed with bipolar one at the age of 20. Although becoming sober and a non-drinker wasn’t huge for her, it did have a huge impact on her life.
